Egypt President says he will NOT step down...
So Mubarak has stated in a press conference that he will neither step down nor leave the country as the people want. He has simply transferred his power to the vice-president...read the story here...
The Ceauşescus were executed by a firing squad consisting of elite paratroop regiment soldiers: Captain Ionel Boeru, Sergant-Major Georghin Octavian and Dorin-Marian Cirlan,[13] while reportedly hundreds of others also volunteered. The firing squad began shooting as soon as they were in position against a wall.
I have no idea what you're referring to here... did this happen in Egypt? today? I'm hearing nothing of this and i'm flipping through every news channel i can find.
if mubaric goes now it would be bad for the country and bad for the whole region. Like it or not Mubaric is in fact a stabilizing force there. I Cr 13:8a
Really? Romania, when Communism collapsed. Ceausescu was the dictator there, Gurcan was making a comparison with history, I think. Papers here tell us that the Saudis 'told' Obama not to embarrass Mubarak. If he's decided to stay on, it's because he knows he has some strong backing.

Alex... thanks for posting here, seen you around on posts, viewing, but this is the first of your own I recall? Please ensure in future, links go in links, blogs go in the blog. You know how it is...

That is a Biblical reference; First Corinthians, Chapter 13 verse 8 "Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing."
I'm not sure what it means taken out of context of the whole chapter though.
Problem with reading it. I usually get news from broadcast so i know the name when i HEAR it. Reading it.... wow... There's a language i'm not familiar enough with. And i'm fairly good at quite a few.
I'm taking it as good news, though i'm sure many here will disabuse me of that notion.
I've heard so much naysaying and doom and gloom, i'm getting politics fatigue. Can't we just rejoice in the people's revolution for a little while before we start predicting how awful and unstable and chaotic it will be.
If I see a lot of it, out of context and without any apparent explanation linking it to the threads where I see it, I will regard it as spam and eject the offending party.
So who is surprised?
AntwortenLöschenThis is his decision. Let's see what the people and the military decide.

A puppet show, most likely.

Surprisingly easy, if you already know any of the other European 'romantic' languages. I'm going there in a couple of weeks' time :)
AntwortenLöschenAh... So you finally decided.
AntwortenLöschenGreat! Enjoy.
