If you didn't already know, I work nights. It's now morning, and I read yesterday's papers in the work canteen last night - despite being about a week ahead of most of their content. This, then, from The Mirror, popular left-leaning British tabloid (same story was also in The Sun, Murdoch's, leaning right). Read by every manual worker and tradesman in the country, between them. Link follows, first reply. I haven't seen this in the proper newspapers. So... simply: David Cameron now claims Iran are after 'intercontinental' missile capability, and may soon be able to hit Britain, not just Israel or Saudi Arabia. I have no evidence to offer, to the contrary, but really... haven't we heard this one somewhere before? Recall... even the inquiry into Jack Straw et al's '45 minutes' bullshit was held behind closed doors. I hate to say this... but I think Iran WILL be bombed, possibly invaded. This year.

AntwortenLöschenThey are beating that drum in the US as well, claiming Iran is developing missiles that could strike the US. As if that gives the US any right to start an unprovoked war. Where did this notion arise that it is OK to bomb a country just over its armaments? That same logic could be applied to the US; the US has the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons so wouldn't that give (under this nonsense) Iran, or any country, the right to bomb the US? This is ludicrous, yet the citizens are buying into this? In fact, the US is a clear and present danger to any other country in the world just by their recent activities of destroying Libya and Iraq and their continuing destruction of Afghanistan.
AntwortenLöschenThe US talks about the never-ending war on terror; If the US invades Iran, they will see what a never-ending war is like. You would think they would have an understanding with Afghanistan but they seem as thick as bricks.
AntwortenLöschenThe sad part is that all this warmongering is because of the control that Israel has over the US Congress. Of course the citizens get the government they deserve by voting these people into power. The US will be pulled into a war that will destroy its economy. However, the leaders don't care, all they care about is the money being pushed into their pockets. The US has only been able to do the destruction it has on borrowing money. China doesn't want any more US debt. They have sold part of what they hold now. I think they would dump the lot but knows that would not be a smart move so they will sell it over in bits and pieces so that it does not cause any harm to their own economy. However, I am digressing into another area.
AntwortenLöschenArticle claimed that if Iran were to build a nuke, it would start an arms race - and I would agree that region doesn't need that. But would it? Israel have got enough to cover the Saudis while they build theirs, if it came that... who else? Pakistan, China, India and Russia already have them.
AntwortenLöschenThat is just nonsense. Iran is surrounded by a nuclear arsenal that could wipe them out several times over.
AntwortenLöschenI was going to try and post some data on nuclear weapons around Iran. However, here is a map showing the military bases around Iran.
AntwortenLöschenAn arms race? So far Iran does not have any. They would have to race around the clock to even get close to the stockpile the US has, or probably even what Israel has although no one is quite sure how many they have. We do know Israel has enough that they were willing to sell some of them to South Africa. It is just ludicrous.
