It's quite frightening that I post things like this when drinking and then find them the next day, with no memory of doing so. I may have to either stop myself from drinking like that, or ban myself from here if I do. As it is, this looks like it's quite a good read... :)
It's an inevitable result of drinking that we get more sociable and loquacious. Sometimes it's nice, but sometimes.... I can't say that you talked too much!
I have started to do more business in Russia and have better appreciation of their politics. On my recent trip to Khabarovsk which is in the Russian far east I had a chance to discuss with some English speaking highly educated people. Russia like the USA has a lot of pride in their country. Putin is viewed as a very patriotic person and will do whatever it takes to support the country. When we see the USA bases near Russia the question the Russians have is what if we had bases in Central America? Communism id dead and the old Russia is dead. Most people have no use for the old regime and suffering the country had under Communism. Gorbachev just happen to be there when things fell apart. he made some moves , but really didn't know what he was doing. Yeltsin was a drunk and embarrassment. The USA is admired but sometimes makes stupid mistakes in the world. Western European countries are a mess and they don't know how to make a strong patriotic country, far to liberal. This is all comments after some beers and drinks late at night. I will travel to central Sibera soon and north of Mongolia, I am sure I will meet some interesting people also, and learn even more.
Am digesting.
