Time to say goodbye. Wondering who's still here...
More than three years we have been here together in this group, which I feel is like a village, where we know each other, some better, some less. I found some friends here, we will stay connected. We had some hot debates, some drama, some fun, just like in our real life, and tons of information. And the communication! I enjoyed so much the possibility to discuss with people of so many different nations about global politics.
I was happy to be a part of it, and was happy to give Mike, the founder of SLG, the possibility to leave when he became tired of the burden of group management. The management was OK for me, but I am not a writer and so I couldn't compensate the lack of great blogs and posts he wrote in his best time, and encouraged others to write as well. Since he left, the group lacked these impulses Mike gave us.
The history of our group is saved at blogger: http://spiesliesgeopolitics.blogspot.com/ alas only the blogs which were posted for everybody.
And there is a follow-up of this group at MyOpera http://my.opera.com/geopolitics/about/ but it won't be more than a monument, when you don't follow and get active there. So come to 'the Opera' and let's start again!
I hate long goodbyes. We'll meet again! Have fun!
Hasta la vista, bye, ciao und Tschüss! Es war mir ein Vergnügen!
Hasta la vista, bye, ciao und Tschüss! Es war mir ein Vergnügen! You too!
AntwortenLöschenFarewell...
AntwortenLöschenSee you around Ulla. Will catch up soon over at Opera, but there's still FB for keeping in touch.
AntwortenLöschenBye, Guys.
I noticed a new member just asked to join. I guess that person wanted to be the last to get on board before the ship sinks-- an honor of sorts, I suppose.
AntwortenLöschenI bookmarked the blogspot archive. Perhaps I'll post the link on my own Multiply site archive. It is, after all, history, and a considerable amount of intelligent commentary.
I also made a text copy of the SLG membership list, in case it could be a reference for the new Opera version. So far it seems that Opera is a bit trickier to navigate as a discussion group than was Multiply, but I hope lots of us gather there and get it figured out, or agree on someplace to do that.
Peace, y'all. :)
The application was somebody who was rejected once before, when I remember right. A theme of stars and stripes, account from Norway and a Christmas pin-up as avatar. I didn't think this would be an asset for our group. Plus an application for the last day. WTF? He may come to Opera. Maybe he's funny.
