Some on the right believe NATO and the US are wrong to have supported Libyan rebels

Whoops, no one told the right that their Libya talking point doesn't work anymore

  1. It sounds to me that these people are very mixed up; it was not so long back that they were berating Scotland for giving back a terrorist to the dictator in Tripoli... then there was even a time before that they were celebrating the bringing in from the cold of Gadaffi from the war on terror. Do they have any joined up thinking or are they constantly looking for something to be angry over?

  2. Where in the world are you not going to find pockets of Al-Qaeda (or groups like them) among rebels or freedom fighters? To suggest any group is "pure" would be ridiculous. As far as the hawks in the US, nothing will make them happy. They squawked about Obama not going to Congress to receive authorization under the War Powers Act and now they say he didn't act sooner and with more strength.

McCain, based on his heroic service to his country in the Viet Nam War, should no longer be considered the paragon on defense affairs that he is in this county. After all, his service in the military ended over 40 years ago. Why everyone listens to him on such matters anymore is beyond me, but somehow on such matters, people in the US and Congress listen. The Senate rarely acts on defense (or immigration) matters before getting his blessing. So when he (and his conjoined twin Graham) said stupid things like this, unfortunately, a lot of conservative Americans listen.

The French and NATO are the heroes in this but not Obama, just as the Navy SEALS got all of the credit for bin Laden and none went to Obama. In the eyes of the US Neo-Cons and even mainstream Republicans (wait, do they exist anymore?) Obama will always be weak on defense. They want to live in a continual state of war.

  4. That's pretty much it.
Finding a way to blame it on Obama is what they do, whatever the "it" is.

and the title of this isn't quite right...
They don't think America was wrong. They think OBAMA was wrong.
Either that or they are forgetting their "America right or wrong" mantra. They're the ones who claim Obama's always apologizing for America.
Well if their assertion is true, maybe they better apologize.
