Apparently not so. Plus, not guilty until judged... and they are NOT. They are held there because someone has an inkling that they MAY BE involved.
If Obama had not pushed, dozens of TOTALLY AND OBVIOUSLY innocent people would have been kept there. I am sure you know about the detainees who were released to a number of other countries.
The CIA was DUPED by the local Afghani, who sold them irrelevant Uigur people from China...
That is only one example.
The issue here is that GITMO has become a DUNGEON where people can get arbitrarily locked up regardless of their guilt or innocence.
I am not aware that this country has yet rescinded its fundamental principles of "justice for all".
If we have, let us all KNOW. Let us put in our school books that
"We are a country were we secure national harmony by sending people to a dungeon if and when a government authority deems it suitable. THAT is the foundation of our nation. THAT is why we are strong and wealthy."
Now, put that into school books, and I will greet you as a "patriot of some kind".
But, do not tell my kids one thing and cheat them. You are taking away their chance of becoming a President(!)...
