WON'T BREAK THE CHAIN:
STICKING WITH JOE!

On Wednesday, August 15, MSNBC’s noon show, “NOW With Alex Wagner,” featured a brief but revealing segment on Vice President Joseph Biden’s recent gaffe. This was the one where Biden addressed a crowd, mostly of African-Americans, and, using what sounded like a Southern accent, said of the Romney/Ryan team: “They’re going to put ya’ll back in chains,” supposedly with deregulation of Wall Street.

The “NOW” panel was urged to address this by host Alex Wagner, but from a specific standpoint – “How do we get past this and get to the big issues?”

For a hot minute, it looked like Joe Biden might have lost Al Sharpton. And just as quickly, Sharpton returned to the fold.

Biden has another possible entry to Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, along with his open-mic boast to President Obama in 2010 that passage of Obamacare was "a big f***ing deal." (audio clip after page break)

The controversy surrounding Vice President Joe Biden’s offensive claim that Republicans want to enslave black Americans has become such a concern to the Obama White House that the veep’s staff have resorted to trying to directly censor the news coverage about him.

In what is widely believed to be an unprecedented move, the Biden press shop has severely restricted access to vice president and begun telling journalists what they should write about his activities as they write them up.

Cable News Network host Soledad O'Brien has clashed often with conservative guests on her program, but on Thursday, she pressed the liberal chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus when he tried to dismiss Vice President Joe Biden's comment that Republicans wanted to "put y’all back in chains."

During that morning's edition of the Starting Point program, O'Brien showed a clip of Biden's remarks, from his campaign stop in Danville, Virginia, then asked Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) what he thought about his fellow Democrat's comments. The scandal-plagued congressman responded succinctly: “Absolutely nothing.”

  1. Usually the democrats get away with race baiting but even this went to far. To suggest that Romney wants to put black people in chains is offensive. It's meant to scare the shit out of black people so they continue to blindly support the democrat ticket. Can the democrats stoop any lower? Yes they can - they accused Romney of killing a women with another TV ad.

"A controversial TV ad tying Mitt Romney to a woman's cancer death aired today for the first time in Ohio."

Well they can't run on Obama's horrific record so I guess they figure they will accuse Romney of being a racist and a killer!

This is a really proud moment in time to be a democrat!

  2. Biden is a freakin' muppet.

It really is not much more complicated than that.

  3. This certainly isn't anything like the Bush White House releasing a video of Bin Laden a week before the election to scare the shit out of people, eh?

Ever hear of a swift boat?

Biden's remark was crude but he actually made a point. It would be economic "chains" for blacks in this country if Romney were to win because cities would be neglected and that's where black populations are centered. The Republicans are already trying to disenfranchise their basic right to vote, by in many instances instituting new forms of "poll taxes".

Biden makes what many people think of as these terrible "gaffes" but I find him to be refreshingly honest. being caught saying that passing the health care act was a "big fucking deal" might have been a gaffe(?) but it sure was honest and a very human reaction. I was saying the same thing at the time.

  4. Right!!

Because the Democrats have been so awesome for the blacks....

Bush left Obama with the unemployment at 7.6 percent and now the rate is 8.3 percent. This is a 9 percent increase in people out of work.

Gas prices since Obama took office have risen by 103.79 percent. Much higher than when Bush was the president.

the National Debt now stands at $15.566 trillion. It was $10.626 trillion on President Bush's last day in office!

Under Obama, the United States lost its top-tier AAA credit rating from Standard & Poor's in an unprecedented blow to the world's largest economy.

  5. More FACTS...

AT THIS VERY MOMENT - UNDER OBAMA

The African-American unemployment rate stands at an outrageous 16.2 percent. Black teenagers have a devastating unemployment level of 41 percent.

"When someone highlights the fact that black unemployment has actually worsened under the Obama Administration while improving within the white community, the quickest reaction I typically hear is "He's president of all of America, not just black America," which appears to be an excuse for him not to do anything."

Your comment just sounds so RIDICULOUS given these facts. How can Romney make things worse for BLACKS than Obama already has?

  6. Randy your trying to argue against the "Obama Zombie effect". This is where individuals take on a "zombie " like persona and will defend anything about Obama regardless of the facts. Jim Jones had that effect to the horror and death of 1000's as they drank the Kool Aid. Its amazing the "zombie effect", don't have any idea of a cure! Poor sad individuals as they wander through life!
