  1. I hadn't heard about the Angola issue- that sounds like a real motive. "The Queen didn't approve of her" never seemed a credible reason for murder.
I've seen the movie twice. Does it seem accurate from your perspective?

I wonder- if MI6 plans to kill a member of the royal family, do they need to ask the Queen first? What is the protocol on that?

  2. 1) Angola - I simply don't know enough to comment, it is high on my list 'to blog'. I'm betting the dirty British hand is in the mix...

    2) It wasn't Elizabeth. If it came from that House at all, it was Philip. And Nicholas Soames, I believe grandson of Churchill.

    3) Do I think the film is accurate? No, but don't be misled. Hollywood like that is never accurate (not sure if this was British, I use the term 'Hollywood' generically. One of the characters late on in the film say of the SAS hitmen - "that's the trouble with you lot; you never ask who you're working for, and why?". It strikes me that this line would not have been included if it was an outright propaganda vehicle. I know zero about the director / writer. Worth looking into. :)

    4) Like the SAS and other armed forces, at least overtly, I gather 5 and 6 are answerable to HM. But if they don't have illegal shit going on, I'll be very surprised. I see no reason to believe it was MI6 who killed Diana. I think it was a murder carried out by a probably unknown ... let's call it a 'cell'... it almost doesn't matter if it was CIA, French, MI6, SAS or what... they are all the same.

  4. I can tell you (didn't read the Wiki page in full, but it may not say this there)... Trevor Rees-Jones is former SAS himself.

  5. well not a lot ... but do I think "foul play " was involved ?? Yes . Two of her ex lovers also died in crashes apart from Dodi

Two of Diana's lovers died in spectacular accidents
Besides Diana, two of her lovers also died as a result of spectacular accidents.
In a videotaped recording Diana states that she had a relationship with her bodyguard
Barry Mannakee and that he was murdered by the Secret Service as a result.
The Daily Mail reports: 'A sensational claim by Princess Diana that her former
bodyguard was murdered for having an affair with her is being investigated by Scotland Yard. Her beyond-the-grave testimony that royal protection officer Barry Mannakee was deliberately killed in a motorcycle crash 17 years ago is said to be on a video filmed in the early Nineties..
    '
Another of Diana's lovers was John Kennedy Jr. 'Princess Diana had a passionate affair
with John F. Kennedy Jr. This is maintained by the newspaper The Sun in a new book
about the princess, once the wife of Prince Charles', reported Nu.nl on June 27th. And just like Diana, Kennedy Jr. also lost his life in a spectacular accident. ) .

Or perhaps the one with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston? lol

  7. That seems to point to a jealousy motive rather than political, unless the theory is she revealed secrets only to men she was intimate with.

  8. Her dating a rich Muslim just pissed them off too much... and yes, The Queen was beginning to be in her shadow a bit.
