Kim Il Jong is officially dead. I stand corrected - thought he'd gone ages ago. Would ask what's next re: China, USA, nuclear arms etc... the son seems likely to be just as much a lunatic... but I think I'll leave that one to the group comedians. I do hope we get a 'serious' North Korea thread with as little bias as possible. Meanwhile, a link I just found... The North Koreans are just like anybody else. No matter how bad it is, they are afraid of it getting worse, and if the guy in charge of your meager food supply just croaked I assume you would be crying over it.

AntwortenLöschenIt is refreshing to hear an expression of basic respect at the death of a human being. We often forget that celebrating when someone we don't like dies only mocks the real grief of friends and family, while the deceased is beyond hearing the insult.
Out with the IL and in with the UN I guess.........

I see some really nasty times coming for North Korea. The successor, King Jong-Il's youngest son will be nothing more than a puppet of his uncle. The man married to Kin Jong-Il's youngest sister.

AntwortenLöschenNow seems the time for USA, NATO etc to 'encourage regime change' there, if we're going to at all. Not sure how that can work diplomatically if they continue to not talk at all. And any war would almost certainly end up involving China.

Not too sure about that. To 'encourage' Regime change in that region could have some unforseeable 'Blowback' that might come back to haunt us. One must think such matters completely and fully, not using bias and politics as their divining-rod; but using logic and reason.
