Black History in the American Empire: Your History Online VIII

http://cosmicrat.multiply.com/links/item/237
Most Americans know little of the history in this online resource unless they have studied black history specifically and intensively, and I suspect most of the rest of the world knows even less of it. Yet our racial relations have had a profound effect on the development of our national character, or in some cases, the lack of it. It is not the only key to understanding this problematic nation, but it is one of them. The world should know the whole story, even if we don't teach it to ourselves.

  8. Ok, just remember...you asked for it.

Historians are regulated to the following...research and present the infomation they have gathered.

A white person is qualified to tell any history. As long as they follow the parameters I stated. Of course because racism is such a third rail topic, quite often the facts get twisted for several reasons.

So the question should be why isnt history told properly by white America?

The answer...for the same reason no American history isnt told properly by white America. Shit would hit the fan!

If all of America knew what our government has done...a revolution would be an understatement.

    AntwortenLöschen
  9. So in other words ... We learned from the Native Americans History told by whites that white folk speak with forked tongue ...and If Truth properly were ever to be told Caucasians might find themselves standing all alone in the crowd ? Sounds like White Privilege is alive and well huh ?

Do you think american whites can ever come to grips with accepting * Denial * is not a river ?

Kinda like they were ( forced ) to do in South Africa !

I think decline of Power by increased natural disasters will humble those in power in this country, and force a sit down at the pow wow table for all those concerned..

    AntwortenLöschen
  10. No. If you were the "benefactors" of oppression would you surrender it?

    AntwortenLöschen
  11. Power is not real. Its either controlled or controlling. No, they dont understand humility. Why should they? Its just a setback.

    AntwortenLöschen
  12. Lol, I'd like to think I'd be smart enough to share so we can all learn from each-other and truly be representative of the title * Great Nation * There is No such thing as a benefactor of Oppression* in my book.

Those who enslave others are destined to be enslaved to those they have fostered from a prosective they may not comprehend until its too late.

    AntwortenLöschen
  13. We've already had a revolution. White America started one a bit over 2 years ago. It started with town hall meetings and sobbings about "Wanting our country back" and then, aided by rich benefactors, "Tea Party" racist rallies were held in Washington and other cities and these rallies were WIDELY covered by the press in lingering detail. Result: a sharp turn to the Right, with even Democrats fearing this movement refusing to vote for health care, refusing to give the President the filibuster-breaking majority he needed. The rag=tag tea party WAS a revolution against the standing government and it changed the nation.

Now when is the Left going to mobilize to take action? They have broken our unions, trashed our economy, kept millions of us in jail unjustly, taken food out of the mouths of our children, denied us healthcare, denied us jobs, taken our money to give to irresponsible banks - geez. That's not enough?

Because from where I am sitting it looks like we are rolling over and playing dead. As opposed the crap hitting the fan.

    AntwortenLöschen
  14. I know I won't like the reason......one of the reasons I oppose that ........my experience is that in that instance the story will lack some essential information. It may even contain a lot of "misinformation"!!!!!

    AntwortenLöschen
  15. Just got back from my classes at the university.....sorry!

    AntwortenLöschen
  16. Speaking of history;
Even a cursory examination of American history shows that this country can not be successfully governed from the left.

Every time it is tried, it fails and is followed by a "...sharp turn to the right..."

When is the left going to mobilize?

The failures you are experiencing are the result of a massive leftist mobilization as far back as 1914....the press, hollywood, mass media, academia, the unions, the House, the Senate, the Executive, the EPA, the internet, the UN and on and on... You had it all and still have most of it. The only thing you can't seem to master is the marginal, dinky, barely profitable talk radio utility.
Consequently we're in a near collapse now.

Is it any wonder that the silent majority is beginning to murmur a bit?

    AntwortenLöschen
  17. You should take your own advice when it comes to citing "leftist" failure.

    AntwortenLöschen
  18. We are living in leftist failure. We need look no farther than that. But, I certainly could if you'd like.

    AntwortenLöschen
  19. Reagan was a leftist? Who knew. That fuck up needed an impeachment more so than Nixon.

    Say it with me...Contra!

  20. Btw, the world does know the whole story ( last comment in original blog ) Thats why the world has yet to champion a black cause. Slavery went to every nation. They all have their part to play.

Did you brothers notice the attempt to change subjects / avoidance behavior ? Lol !

  21. Am I missing something here? Are all white people the same? Are all black people the same?

I would submit that there are some white people who are speak the truth in regards to history and some that do not.

    Same with people of color.

Race has nothing to do with. Knowledge and an understanding of the truth is all you need. Regardless of skin color, some people have it and some don't.

    AntwortenLöschen
  22. Shalom redstaterandy,

With respect, By your statement to my comprehension it appears you may be missing a point here.
I can't speak for others, but from my prospective I am grouping Caucasians in a collective. As well as the Blacks which came to this land from bondage to chattel slavery. One makes up a Majority the other a minority.

Whites are clannish and Blacks are Tribal. But those whites who have benefited from the constructs of the oppressed still have in their possession some truths of the black historical migration to this Continent. which is yet to be revealed to the public to this day. There are less financially fortunate whites who are aware of the same information kept secret from a world public. Yet that Truth remains Hidden.

On the flip side Some Blacks are privy to the exact same information's and more that whites hold so dear to their bosoms. And still the Truth is suppressed. Now if this understanding of Truth you speak of is so prevalent in this modern day society Then the oppressed would be Far past the conditions which the world see's us in today.

    Example:
Some white men dressed up themselves to appear to be ( Native Americans )
during the days of the Boston Tea Party. What if Historical researchers omit that Fact ?
Then it would change the accuracy of the story.

I agree with you in this ... on an individual basis ( RACE ) has nothing to do with It.
But when it comes to history and telling the story from a broad spectrum ( RACIAL information ) for Identification purposes is most important or essential to telling the proper story. In My book, If 20 white families owned 300 brutally oppressed slaves and 70 whites families owned NO slaves. Yet this went on to every-ones knowledge for 200 yrs. before anything was done about it.

Then the 70 families who had NO brutally oppressed slaves are just as guilty as the 20 who did, especial if they refused to document a remorse, and should be dealt with in the same premise as the 20. Whether some people have it and some don't. Is inconsequential when seeking Truth and Justice. The Truth is avoided because it brings unpopular and or unfavorable results.

Caucasians do not want to chance that unfavourable going against everything they so adamantly believe.

    shalom...

    AntwortenLöschen
  23. I very much appreciate your perspective and maybe I did miss the point. Slavery is the biggest embarrassment in our nation's history. The on going racism after that his equally horrifying.

I am a white guy from Idaho so my perspective is going to be somewhat different than a black man from Mississippi. I get this.

I disagree with your whole the "truth is hidden" and "white people want to keep their narrative." Not true. I am white and know many white people and no two views are the same. Just like no two black views are the same. Everyone's life experience is different.

So don't speak of "Blacks" and "Caucasians" like they all play for the same team. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Malcolm X is not Condi Rice and David Duke is not Harry Reid.

"Now if this understanding of Truth you speak of is so prevalent in this modern day society Then the oppressed would be Far past the conditions which the world see's us in today."

I have strong opinions on this. I blame LBJ and his war on the family. Before that there was no 75% black illegticamy rate. No White 29% illegiticamy rate.

No need for two parents when uncle sam sends you a check just for breathing.

  26. It's good to see this link stimulating some response. I'm a little puzzled by your question. Are you concerned whether those compiling the history and creating the website are black or white? Surely you aren't referring to the guy who posted the link here, which would be me.

It seems to me that the important question is whether the history is accurate, and whether it is being told at all.

    AntwortenLöschen
  27. yes it is very good to see replies to this without ad homonym attacks. This is an in general reply without being directed towards anyone here personally including the author of this blog.

Yes, accuracy is the importance here. the ( BLACK ) history Should be IMO told by a combination of those directly involved and affected when presented to the worlds audience and verified by those who were a party to with. ( Whites ) No one leaves their history in the hands of others...So Y would you expect whites to tell black history...They are not known for telling the truth ...That's fukin ludicrous.

Lets go ask the Aussie Aborigines to give us a an truthful depiction of Italian History LOL !

Whites re writing their own history as we speak...

    Don't you think cosmicat ?

whether the story gets told or not is irrelevant ... Every-ones story has its day in the spotlight eventually...

Black History Best told by Black Historians verified by those who experienced it along with them !

  28. History is a science and should be taught and told by historians, regardless of which ethnic background, on the base and with the standards of today's scientific knowledge. History today is as much interested in subjective reports and everyday's life of the people as it is interested in wars and political history. So black history in USA is part of the whole history of the USA. I can't see why a black historian should be predestined to research on the history of the black Americans, and a white historian for the whites, except you allege they are biased, what a scientist shouldn't be.

    AntwortenLöschen
  29. Science is guess work 50/50 invalid and corruptible ... has no true connection to history

No, that is just another excuse to try and place a limit as to what should or should not be recorded for historical purposes. It is already known how you people think you should have full control over what used to known as your property. ( Negro ) So Get over yourselves ..Join the real world. 35. Well, I wrote my comment knowing that there still are racist reservations, but reservations are NOT scientific, they are emotions. As sayntj said, I am not US-citizen, so I can't see what's wrong with a history page special about black history, written by scientists of any color of the rainbow.

    AntwortenLöschen
  36. oK Sayntj and baglava, maybe you folks are too young to catch my drift. So We'll leave it at that.
it doesn't matter if you're a Historian of any race or who's historical attestations you decide to accept. No matter where you come from. What matters is truth. In this instance. Truth is on the side of the oppressed.

I gave you my thoughts from my experience knowledge and studies. We all know when you need information that can be deemed reliable you just go to the source. In the end whichever decision you make will play a vital role in your education.

In 1974 we got South Vietnamese kids inducted into our communities. They did not know as a political correctness what to call the Black people. So they went to the whites for advice. And as you can probably guess the whites told them to call us ( NIGGERS ) and as you can probably guess ...They got the living shiit beat outta them.

It had a positive result though ... when the smoke cleared the blacks and the vietnamese grew closer together as an end result. They learned the hard way ( NOT ) to trust what white folk tell you.
And that Blacks are a very forgiving people.

White Historians do the same thing ( Dis-information ) to world communities.

Their existence as a people depends on Historical Spies, Lies & deceptions.

    Peace.......

  37. Hypotheticalness? Referring to Hesse's European Fable? I think that Hesse's intention was to tell a fictional story, one that could not happen, based on a myth that never happened, transcending time, in order to make a point. I think he made it very well. (If you want to add "for a white guy", go ahead).

I believe that not all white people think with one mind. That may be obvious, but it may get overlooked at times, since the nature of racism leads to an "us vs. them" viewpoint for both. But all of us, past or present, who oppose racism, who worked and fought to end slavery, who try to change attitudes and laws-- we're in a minority group of our own. I'd like to say we're a majority now, but I'm not sure of that. No matter how strongly we speak out, write, cast our votes, and act to make a difference, we're not black, and we know that. We know that when we go for a job interview, walk or drive down the street, or go into a store, we don't have to worry about the boss, or a cop, or a clerk being prejudiced. (At one time, we hippies experienced some of that, but of course we could look just like "them" if we wanted to). So you can say that we can never truly understand what it's like to BE a black person in the way only experiencing your existence and your lifetime of memories could make one understand.
There is, however, empathy. Not everyone seems to have it, but for those who do, it's not something to take lightly. There is much more than just an intellectual philosophical conclusion that something is being done wrong. It takes an identification of oneself as a human being in common with another human being, an imagination of the other's feelings, and the ability to care.

You're right-- history is not a science. It is an art, which if done right uses scientific methods where possible to tell the true story to the extent possible.
I have a bachelor of ARTS degree in history from UCLA. In a required course called "The Science of History", I got a C on the final, which was an essay to explain why history is a science, and my answer explained why it is mostly an art.
That does not mean that the art of history cannot tell the truth when the historian is committed to doing so.

As a general answer to the earlier question, I think ALL history, including all available truth, should be taught by every teacher to every student and included in every textbook used for teaching.

History didn't happen in two or more versions, and it should not need to be told in first a sanitized cheerleader propaganda version and later one with the missing details inserted. It's no wonder students lose interest. They know when they're being snowed, and they stop listening.

Until we can get it done right in all the schools, I think anyone who encounters truth has the responsibility to disseminate it, knowing there are others who don't know it. That, of course, is why I posted the link.

    AntwortenLöschen
  38. Oh wow ! cosmicrat dude that entire comment really sucked ! I have a BA as an Art historian myself !

    AntwortenLöschen
  39. Would you care to explain what could possibly motivate that remark?

Are you somehow mis-perceiving my intentions, or something I said?

    AntwortenLöschen
  40. I know you had good intentions when you wrote that. But there is no real practicality in those words.

    AntwortenLöschen
  41. I was not writing of practicality. I was simply stating how I feel. Are principles and ideals practical? Perhaps not. But when a significant number of people hold certain principles and act accordingly, it does have an effect on the nature of practical reality.

My only practical suggestion was in the last sentence, which should be self-evident: if you know something, tell it. Don't wait for the education system to become perfect. Truth is a duty common to all of us.

    AntwortenLöschen
  42. Cosmicrat ... I'm sure you have heard the statement Truth is stranger than fiction*

If I demonstrated step by step an irrefutable truth about history you would still cling to denial.
I know that's a fact. Because in order to get to the truth ...People would have to admit their part
in the lie. If you're are NOT willing to confess the ills of your people. What would be the point in having a truthful discussion about the past present or future. Time will solve every-ones doubts and insecurities. Trust me . We are experiencing a cleansing as we speak.

Let me ask ( YOU ) a question to which I already know your answer.

From your studies of American history

Do you think Whites of this day should be held responsible for what Their ancestor did to Blacks in this country as far as Chattel slavery is concerned ?

    AntwortenLöschen
  43. Oh Here's a more current question !

Do you think Whites are responsible for Poor Education in minority communities ?

    AntwortenLöschen
  44. If you know my answer, should I bother giving it? You've already said that you know I would "cling to denial". Do you assume that you "know" me because I am white, or because you have taken the trouble to read a significant portion of what I have written in the past? If the latter, I would like to see what gave you that impression

    AntwortenLöschen
  45. yes, if you claim to be so anti-mis-justice, surprise me or those who are silently reading this blog
... The wise recognizes * avoidance behavior.

I'm not mad at you ... I don't blame whites for Chattel slavery nor am I trying to corner you into admitting Blacks deserve reparations ....I know the Truth is a bitch to the lot of you people. Something you will trade your birthright to Prevent from being Publicized, but once you try telling the truth you will find it can be very liberating , and uplifting. I have read all that you have written. Its hogwash and you know it. C'mon man the fuck up and be a true peace loving Caucasian for once in your life maybe we can actually progress this dialogue to actually mean something. Like Obama says . Sit at the table of knowledge without your Pre-set conditions and notions.

I would like to see what gave you that impression ( cosmicrat )

    You can't ....
my experiences derived from Caucasians of all types gave me that impression.

I was raised in the North and Midwest. English, German, Irish, Scottish, and Jew-ish townships

Got a great opportunity to be a Fly on the wall in many whites households. ( overheard many under the table conversations about blacks ) on an international scale not

  46. You don't want to answer my questions because you know we will both end up agree-ing...

That acknowledgement would put us both on the same level playing field ...

And you don't want that...Fucking articulate Negroes ...HA !

You think you're better than me ..don't you ?

    AntwortenLöschen
  47. I didn't say I wouldn't answer, nor that I didn't want to. I do question your pre-judgement of what my answer would be.

Do you have the same mind, feelings, and opinions as Michael Steele, or Clarence Thomas, or for that matter, ANY other individual? No, I didn't think so. Please allow me to be an individual as well.

No, I don't think I'm better than you.

Do we inherit guilt for the grievous wrongs done by our ancestors, in the same way we inherit the color of our skin? No. What matters is what we inherit through our culture, absorbed from the totality of our environment since birth. As soon as we begin thinking we start to have some input and effect on our own personal version of that culture.

When we recognize within that culture the destructive legacy of the acceptance of slavery, and of the attitudes of racial superiority, differing only in degree from those that enabled that slavery, we do become responsible for it. We then have a choice to accept it and seek what may be the rewards of going along with it, or reject and try to change it. There is a third choice, which is to pretend that it doesn't exist, which amounts to accepting it.

The recognition of the existence of racism is a key element. It would be hard not to have at least a vague awareness, but to fully realize the harm it has done in both past and present, and how they are connected, learning the full and unedited version of history is necessary.

Why should white people deny the evils done by other whites in the past or the present, unless their self-identity requires being a part of a race, which is a concept that has been shown to be scientifically meaningless?

True, one has to deal with how people actually do think, rather than just telling them why they shouldn't think that way.

Your question was actually should whites be HELD responsible, rather than should we TAKE responsibility. The difference is that you seem to be asking how black people in general (or a neutral 3rd race?) should feel about it. Although the latter is not for me to decide, my answer would be the same. For slavery, no. For the perpetuation of attitudes that made slavery possible then, and make discrimination possible to this day, yes. And I hope that a majority of us, of both races are doing what we can to change those who hang onto the old attitudes, point out and protest instances when they become evident, and try to right the wrongs being done.

    AntwortenLöschen
  48. If you mean poor quality public schools, inadequately paid teachers, and teaching materials that convey incomplete and/or slanted information, then the majority of those with the power to determine that, at various levels of government, are responsible. I doubt that in most cases the inadequacy is intentionally aimed at minorities, but economically poorer communities suffer most from it.

Aside from the schools, it's extremely important that education, respect for knowledge and reading, and stimulation of natural curiosity, be started early in the home. Parents themselves need to do that, and make sure it happens. That can make a huge difference in what a child will get from school, and from life in general.
