Imagine you're an official - border patrol, police, whatever you like, and you've been instructed that, by law, you have the right to demand identification papers from anyone that YOU deem to LOOK like they might be an illegal immigrant. The location is a US State which borders with Mexico.
So, you all probably know what this is about. Even if not - of these, whose papers do you think you might ask to see?

Well done to Dim, Crinkster and Myth. The blonde and the guy in the sombrero are in fact Bulgarians, who are smuggling cocaine into the United States across the Arizona border, bound for Phoenix, attempting to look like common tourists. They have fake visas. The guy with the tattoos complains of being stopped a lot, is a delivery driver and has to come here for work quite regularly. Has done time and served it in full for past offences, is today a man of God, clean as a whistle. The young lady in the second pic has a Lebanese parent, but is American and has the papers, as are the guy in the hoodie and the Muslim woman, bottom right. Eva Mendes, most should recognise. She is in town filming her new movie and while she is Mexican, all the right arrangements have been made. I think she may even have dual nationality.

Ahhh....as an Arizonan...I am so looking forward to July 29 so that all of the prejudices and preconceived notions of what an illegal immigrant is can be recognized for what they are in this state. Blatant bigotry.
AntwortenLöschenHopefully, the citizens of AZ will come to realize that this will have no effect on securing the border or reducing the flow of guns or drugs into Tucson or Phoenix or stem the deaths in the desert.
Perhaps one day, bigots will stop vandalizing those legal water stations provided by the Border Patrol in the desert for those on foot. The BP knows those routes and knows those will be caught. But cruel, inhumane people would rather see the illegals die first. These are the 65% of the people who support SB 1070. The ones who would rather see them die in the desert.
