Confusion over $ millions leaving Afghanistan-- washingtonpost.com

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/24/AR2010022404914.html
About a billion dollars a year leaves Afghanistan and is flown to Dubai...and our spies and experts don't know where it's coming from.

  1. You find the best stories. If somebody got close to what's really going on it could end up being the showdown to end all showdowns with Dubai at the receiving end of this money. The real question is what is the money for? And Saudi money involved too? The conspiracy theorists will have a field day with this one. The Saudi's and the US working together to funnel terrorist money? Building a middle-eastern dynasty for our masters? Interesting...

  3. If the CIA and the military can't figure it out, maybe they should draft some of those Wall Street bonus babies and send them to Kabul with their laptops. They'd either prove how smart they are, or the Afghans would have them for lunch. A win-win situation.

Seriously, the Afghanistan occupation/war becomes more and more absurd every day.

  4. My scenario, they would probably learn how deep the wheeling and dealing for oil profits really go and they would price oil futures so high it would cripple most industrialised nations. Somebody would put a bullet in their heads before they got the chance. Good idea!

  7. Right, it makes since that the U.S. officials have raised concern about the money's origin, when they are part of the money/drug trafficking ring....right...okay that's one ..... conspiracy.

Great article. One does wonder why these vast amounts of money coming FROM Saudi are being traveled in cash volumes. And if this much is being detected in Afghanistan, it would be interesting to know how much in being traded unaccountable through-out the M.E.

It's a great example of the wealth of transfer from the working poor straight up to the Dictators who rule these peasants.

The M.E. is a socialist community giving table crumbs to its own.

Dubai's dark side targeted by international finance police

Fears are intensifying that the emirate has become a global centre for terror funding, money-laundering, drug money and mafia cash

  9. So what is new here....? What makes Dubai any different than the rest of the region?

  10. Its a centre where many rich Russians buy houses in cash. Dubai is the home of rich from all over the world & was one of the most luxurious places in the world . Also centre of finance & playground for rich

Dubai has become one of the hottest real estate spots in the world. Dubai’s drive to become one of the major tourist attractions in the world and to attract the rich and famous as residents has resulted in an unprecedented real estate boom.
All these hotels, condos, islands and villa’s have to be built and for that to happen you need money, a lot of money.

Such circumstances offer vast opportunities for less scrupulous citizens. Enter the world of money laundering and fraud.

that being the case it attracts a lot of crime

  12. Maybe I should have said, "who cares", if the wealth of evil is now concentrated in Dubai instead of being spread out over different regions....

It still doesn't change the fact that the rest of the population in the Middle East gets ignored and suffers at the hands of these sheiks that are exploiting there OWN people!!!

Think about all the money going out of Afghanistan, while women and babies die during child birth because the lack of facilities in which to care for them.

The people should be outraged but instead are ignorant to the corruptness and exploitation that leaves them in extreme poverty as a country, while "Billions" are being exchanged......

Perhaps that is why Saudia Arabia allows for the spread of hate intentionally focused on other countries in order to distract from their own evil doings.

    Islam is the dark cover.
