Colorado cow mutilations baffle ranchers, cops, UFO believer

By Jason Blevins
The Denver Post

SAN LUIS — Manuel Sanchez tucks his leathery hands into well-worn pockets and nods toward a cedar tree where, last month, he found his fourth mysteriously slaughtered calf in as many weeks.

"I have no idea what could do this. I wish I did," he says.

Four calves, all killed overnight. Their innards gone. Tongues sliced out. Udders carefully removed. Facial skin sliced and gone. Eyes cored away. Not a single track surrounding the carcasses, which were found in pastures locked behind two gates and a mile from any road. Not a drop of blood on the ground or even on the remaining skin.

  2. One from the fringe tells me Denver airport is built on a 'Satanic' site?

Ok, on a more sober note... lets assume for the sake of argument UFOs are real and they're military craft. Nothing otherwordly or other-dimensional.

Even if they were... what are the cow parts for? Why cows in particular? They're livestock, kept by humans for food - clue? They're directly related to whales - one of the planet's most intelligent animals - clue?

I think, if we kept Ostriches in as great an abundance as we do cattle, it would be them.

And like crop-circles and the Loch Ness monster, I bet this is great for tourism!

  4. The cattle mutilation phenomena has been part of the UFO mystery for many years.

I read this book about it quite a few years ago:

Mysterious Valley by Christopher O'Brien (Mass Market Paperback - Sep 15, 1996)

It is a very strange situation as far as why someone (or something) would want to remove specific organs from cattle. It appears that these operations are performed using lasers and high heat like the wounds are cauterized.

I think that book mentions that once an animal has been mutilated in this way no other animals or even insects will go near the carcass.

That book isn't exactly a literary masterpiece but it does contain some good information. I forget where the Mysterious Valley really is. Out in the southwest U.S. somewhere I think.

One night after reading this book I started to sense an evil energy. I could hear strange sounds like chanting, flutes, and rattles and I saw what looked like a sort of ancient sea monster in my mind. This books mentions the Leviathan which is one of the evil gods.

That's when I stopped reading books about the cattle mutilations.

Anyone who has studied the UFO phenomenon will begin to realize that there is something evil and dangerous about it. There are sometimes strange deaths which at first appear to be suicides but may actually be murders that are perpetrated by strange government agencies or who knows what else. The so called 'men in black' phenomenon is real.

I had been reading a lot of books about the Montauk Project which was the follow on to The Philadelphia Experiment. One night I came home and had three messages on my answering machine. I pushed the button and heard the most blood curdling metallic, electronic sounds imaginable.

Whatever was talking on the other end of that phone was not from this world. It sounded like creatures that were talking backwards.

The bull is a symbol of male sexual potency in Greek mythology. The god Poseidon is associated with the bull and the horse as well as the sea and earthquakes.

  7. we've been to the san luis valley several times (they have a nice brew pub there) and i hadn't heard about this until it was in today's paper. so they certainly didn't advertise to us. i suppose once the carcass is hauled away, there's not much for tourists to look at.
