A British security service officer visited Morocco three times during the period that the former terror suspect Binyam Mohamed claims he was secretly tortured by the CIA, according to new evidence that raises further questions over British involvement in US acts of "extraordinary rendition".
Spies and lies do seem to go together, don't they?
AntwortenLöschenPersonally I don't see a problem. He was held in Pakistan and while he is said to be a former British resident that, in itself, indicates he was not British. The assumption then is that he is a Pakistani national and as he had been resident in the UK I would hope MI5 would take an interest. He'd also be aware of the judicial (and non-judicial system) in Pakistan and made a choice he regretted.
AntwortenLöschenHe would have been much safer had he stayed in the UK where the Human Rights Act makes it impossible for even those who judges have said pose a danger to the country cannot be sent back to their country of origin as they may face torture. Personally I'd introduce a covert extraordinary rendition programme here and send them back tonight.
