The last Day...
Time to say goodbye. Wondering who's still here...
More than three years we have been here together in this group, which I feel is like a village, where we know each other, some better, some less. I found some friends here, we will stay connected. We had some hot debates, some drama, some fun, just like in our real life, and tons of information. And the communication! I enjoyed so much the possibility to discuss with people of so many different nations about global politics.
I was happy to be a part of it, and was happy to give Mike, the founder of SLG, the possibility to leave when he became tired of the burden of group management. The management was OK for me, but I am not a writer and so I couldn't compensate the lack of great blogs and posts he wrote in his best time, and encouraged others to write as well. Since he left, the group lacked these impulses Mike gave us.
The history of our group is saved at blogger: http://spiesliesgeopolitics.blogspot.com/ alas only the blogs which were posted for everybody.
And there is a follow-up of this group at MyOpera http://my.opera.com/geopolitics/about/ but it won't be more than a monument, when you don't follow and get active there. So come to 'the Opera' and let's start again!
I hate long goodbyes. We'll meet again! Have fun!
Hasta la vista, bye, ciao und Tschüss! Es war mir ein Vergnügen!

A Tearful Goodbye.

Fellow Group Members,
And so it has come to pass, I started posting in Multiply late in 2007 as a refugee from Yahoo 360. After my 7th fake username got banned from Yahoo Answers I looked for a new place to do what it is that I do. I found it here. First it was fun creating and running my own groups. I founded Robust Debate and One State Solution among others. However, running your own group can be a major pain. It’s a lot of work for very little reward. I realized that I had much more fun joining other groups where points of view that I am not used to were posted daily.
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t watch Fox News or listen to Rush. Nothing against these news/entertainment outlets but I already know what they are going to say. I know the talking points. They bore me. I actually spend a lot of time watching MSNBC and listening to LEFT radio on XM. So it is natural for me to spend most of my time on Multiply surfing and blogging on SLG and Elephants Memory where different points of view are often found and articulated.
It is true that I have crossed the line on several occasions while debating on these forums. I have stirred the pot and created controversy where perhaps there did not need to be. Guilty as charged! I love posting on religion, race, sexual orientation, the environment and pretty much anything else where I feel that for too long only one side gets to do the talking. In doing this, tempers flare, accusations are made, name calling and slurs are thrown out and general fireworks take place.
This is my element. Getting people out of their comfort zone! It’s during these moments that you see people for who they are. What agenda they are pushing. What is driving their beliefs?
It is in these rare occasions where one can see the truth.
A surprising byproduct of these exchanges for me has been a new insight and appreciation for other points of view. I didn’t have this or seek this when I started out here but I find myself with a greater understanding of different points of view. Whether I am talking to Jen about race or reading Jan’s comments on the middle east I always come away with a new perspective on these issues.
For this I am extremely grateful.
Know this, I hold no grudges. I dislike nobody here. I would be more than happy to see each of you in cyberspace in the future. I understand if the feeling is not mutual. I get it.
With that in mind, this is my last day on Multiply. Several of you have invited me to other groups and I have saved that information. I am taking some time off from blogging to concentrate on other things in my life. This could be months – could be years – could be forever! I don’t know. Multiply was perfect for me and I have not seen another format that is comparable.
I wish you all the best in your endeavors.
Sincerely,
Jay
(RedStateRandy)
P.S. Feel free to invite (or block)me to any groups that you think I might be interested in.

O'Reilly: Election Is About "What We Will Become"
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/19/oreilly_election_is_about_what_we_will_become.html
This nails it for me.
I love Europeans but I do not like Western European Socialism.
This is why I do not support Democrats. I do not want to become Greece and Spain. So you people here that are not Americans. When you ask yourself why to people in the USA support republicans? It's mostly because they are not democrats who are only interested in taxing the RICH and reditributing wealth. That's what democrats do. That is all the party is about. They want to turn us into Europe.
Half of the USA does not want to be Europe - I am in that half. Nothing personal!

“I collect collectivisms. I’ve already got socialism and communism, and all I need is fascism to complete the set. I’m looking to trade my dusty democracy, but Uncle Sam isn’t interested in a deal at this time. ”

“Political corruption, social greed, and Americanized quasi-socialism can ruin even the most wonderful places. California proved that.”

MOST REPUBLICANS ARE FOR A SAFETY NET. I AM FOR A SAFETY NET.
I AM AGAINST CRADLE TO GRAVE ENTITLEMENTS.
Something to really think about...for those who actually can.
In his book called "Infinite Love Is The Only Truth--Everything Else Is Illusion" (Exposing the dreamworld we believe to be 'real') David Icke takes the conspiracy that many of us are aware of and awake to....to a much higher level. He goes beyond the Iluminati, and the so called elite/or even the reptilians, to the real source which is the system itself, or the matrix, as he calls it.
If you have never seen the Matrix movie trilogy...all three movies, you really should, and if you have seen them...but not recently...you should watch them all again...hopefully with a new understanding. There is a great deal of truth in those movies, about the world and system that we live in, and how it really operates. I highly recommend to anyone who sincerely wants to take their understanding of this world we live in, and how it really operates...to a whole new, and much higher level, that you both watch all three of these movies, and read David Ickes above mentioned book. ...because it will be highly beneficial to you, and to humanity as a whole. Each person who increases his or her knowledge and understanding...makes it a little bit easier for the whole of humanity to also increase it's knowledge and understanding...and knowledge is power...and the more knowledge the whole of humanity has, the easier it will be for the whole of humanity to break free of the power the matrix/system holds over us.
David Icke, does a great job of explainingin this book, how the system operates, and how it manages to keep most of humanity under its "spell", and why it seems so difficult for those of us who understand what is really going on, to get through to, and awaken most people.
The system keeps the majority of humanity locked into the illusion that this world actually is, through the use of many tools and silent weapons---including what passes for education, toxic substances in our food and other parts of our environment, every kind of religion...particularly the mainstream/conventional ones, party politics, electromagnetic pollution, flouride in the water, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, GMO foods, and many other things. The purpose of all these things is to disrupt our DNA, which is basically like a computer program, and rewrites it the same way that a computer virus corrupts a normal computer program and causes it to malfunction. It is the same basic principle, and it keeps us trapped in the multidimensional illusion, and unable to remember who and what we really are....which is actually infinite consciousness.
He states in his book, that many of the people are infinite consciousness, at varying levels of awareness, with most people being more trapped in the illusion than others. But, he says that there are some people who are not infinite consciousness at all...these are pure software programs, and have no consciousness at all...like the red dress programs depicted in the Matrix movies. These include the Illuminati, of course...but these red dress programs exist in all walks of life from the poorest to the richest....and they just follow the program. They don't think for themselves, anymore than a computer does...they just behave as the system has programmed them to behave.
The last thing the system/Matrix wants, is for infinite consciousness to infiltrate, and over power the system's control over humanity. That is why they use so many weapons to keep us trapped in the illusion of the matrix. The matrix would actually cease to exist, if all of humanity suddenly remembered that we are all infinite consciousness. We have been programmed and conditioned from birth to believe that this world is real, and that the system is valid, and that we are our bodies....but it is only the system itself that benefits from programming humanity in this way.It is a detriment to humanity, and it makes slaves of all of us, when our true nature is to be free.
Party Politics is one of the weapons or tools that the system uses to control humanity. Most people are still caught up in the idea that it matters who gets into the White House, or into any high level public office. Most people still cling to the idea that their votes actually has some/any bearing on who gets to be president. But the truth is, that no president has ever been elected...every single one of them has been SElected, and all of them are Illuminati bloodline. The so called elite, always manipulate things so that both candidates are always elitist puppets, so even if the didn't predetermine the winner...which they always do...they would still win. The idea that we have two major parties, is an illusion..designed to give the people the illusion that they are actually deciding something. This illusion of choice is just part of the system's arsonal of control weapons.
The majority of people will choose not to believe what I am saying here, and they will continue to fight and argue about which candidate and which party is the best. But, when the majority of the people finally wake up to the truth that the game is rigged, and always has been...and that the winner of every election is always predetermined, we will finally begin to move in the right direction...toward real freedom. Those qho support or help to perpetuate this system in any way, are actually supporting the enslavement of humanity....most without realizing what they are doing, or how they arebdoing it.
Slavery is not just the obvious form, like the African American slaves suffered at the hands of the rich, white, southern plantation owners. Slavery can be much more subtle than that, and still be slavery. These subtle forms of slavery are actually more beneficial to the system, and more detrimental to humanity, because there are a great many more slaves, and because the slaves are programmed in such a way, that they actually believe that they are free. Of course, it would be impossible for any slave to think him or herself free, if they had any real understanding of what true freedom is.

Fox News Matches Record Ratings With Debate Coverage, Rivaling Palin-Biden in 2008
FNC locks down another win as viewership rises across cable, and MSNBC falls below CNN again.
Early ratings for cable network coverage of Tuesday's presidential debate have numbers surging ahead of the first showdown between President Obama and Mitt Romneyearlier this month -- and Fox News Channel is reaping the biggest benefits.
Nielsen figures have FNC's telecast of the town hall debate matching its highest ratings ever (Sarah Palin and Joe Biden's 2008 vice presidential debate) with 11.1 million viewers. On par with that record, FNC also scored a demo win with 3.46 million adults 25-54. Though its returns are shy of broadcast competition in NBC and ABC, it also topped CBS.

CNN and MSNBC once again switched ranking for the debate. After CNN took the first debate in both viewers and the demo, and MSNBC reclaimed its runner-up status with last week's veep showdown, CNN was once again in second place with 5.77 million viewers and 2.58 million in the demo. MSNBC had 4.88 million total viewers and 1.9 million in adults 25-54.

Brits celebrate NHS as one of their greatest achievements while U.S. conservatives fume.
British celebrate their health care system in London Olympics Opening Ceremony
- LONDON OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY
- JULY 28, 2012
- BY: RYAN WITT
The Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics included a visual narrative, highlighting the many accomplishments of the British people over many centuries. The story included a dramatic transition from the agrarian era to the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. Then, after a moment marking the two world wars, the ceremony included a segment celebrating the National Health Service (NHS). The British, along with almost every other industrialized country in the world, have a universal health care system, in which care is provided for all, regardless of income. Pictures of the celebration, featuring hospital beds, and thousands of actual doctors and nurses from Great Britain, can be seen above.
The scene may have been a curious sight for many Americans. If the United States hosts another Olympic games it likely will not include a celebration of private insurance, like Aetna, or any public aspects of our system, like Medicare.
The British, however, take a particular pride in their system of socialized medicine. The NHS was created in 1946, in the wake of the devastation left in Great Britain after WWII. The system is paid for mostly through a tax based on a percentage of each individual's income. On average, a Brit pays $3,129 for his health care, in American dollars. In comparison, an average American pays $7,538 for their health care, over twice as much. The British also live longer, on average (79.9 years versus 78.2 years in the United States) and have a better infant mortality rate.
This is not to say that the NHS is perfect, or that there aren't some stories of failure with individual patients just as there are in any large system dealing with over 100 million people.
Still, overall the NHS has a stellar record at providing quality care, at a low cost, for nearly every British citizen. Doctors are not paid as much in the British system, but they still make a large enough income to live comfortably, and they do not have to pay off a mountain of student loans like many doctors in the United States. British citizens do not have to worry about being excluded due to pre-existing condition. They do not have to deal with significant co-pays, deductibles, or limits on their coverage. A British citizen pays about $10 for prescription drugs, regardless of how much the drugs actually cost.
Some have compared Obamacare to the system in Great Britain, but the two systems are very different. In the British system, nearly every aspect is controlled by the government, which allows them to control costs much more effectively. Because of political realities in America, Obamacare was much more of a compromise, keeping many aspects of the private system while also implementing more government controls. Obamacare is expected to slow down the increasing rate of health care costs over time, but it will never provide care for all like the British system, and it will not lower costs down to the British level.
So years from now, we will not see an “Obamacare” celebration in an American Olympic Games. Hopefully, it does not take another world war for the United States to adopt a system similar to the NHS.
Excerpt from the Olympic Ceremony Media Guide
Almost all the volunteer dancers in this segment work for the NHS. The NHS is the institution which more than any other unites our nation. It was founded just after World War II on Aneurin Bevan’s famous principle, ‘No society can legitimately call itself civilised if a sick person is denied medical aid because of lack of means.’
– More than 1,200 volunteer cast. They’ve been recruited from a range of hospitals all over the country, including the famous children’s hospital at Great Ormond Street here in London.
Britain Loves its National Health? Fox Nation Doesn't Know How to Deal With That
The Olympic opening ceremonies celebrated Britain’s National Health Service as one of the country’s great achievements. Fox News, which reviles “Obamacare” as an evil Commie plot even though it’s a whole lot weaker than Britain’s universal-coverage system, found this somewhere between baffling and horrifying.
The Fox Nation reprinted a piece from the Christian Science Monitor about the sequence in the opening ceremonies that featured hospital beds spelling “NHS,” under the oh-horrors title, "Olympic Opening Ceremony Celebrates Socialized Medicine" (they tried to include the video but the International Olympic Committee has blocked it). Director Danny Boyle, who put the ceremonies together, said, “One of the reasons we put the NHS in the show is that everyone is aware of how important the NHS is to everybody in this country. One of the core values of our society is that it doesn't matter who you are, you will get treated the same in terms of health care."
But American writers have nothing comparable to the NHS in their country. “Certainly the US equivalent, which would be dancing health insurance corporate executives, was hard to imagine”, jibed the Guardian. (See here) So some were a bit confused. Some, like the CS Monitor, wondered if the hospital beds were a coded message to US viewers.
But not everyone was horrified at the glorification of socialized medicine, even on Fox Nation, and the discussion is pretty lively.

Orwellian ramifications begin to unfold in Syria | Intrepid Report.com
There is a horrible speculation that the insurgents in Syria may have seized hold of chemical weapons.
Apart from the catastrophically unthinkable havoc the rebels can wreak in Syria and in the region with the WMD, the rhetorical question which remains is how these weapons of mass destruction have fallen into the hands of the insurgents who are chiefly composed of Wahhabi al-Qaeda mercenaries of different nationalities including Afghans, Iraqis, Turkish, Yemenis, Jordanians, Pakistanis, and Saudis.
The situation in Syria is assuming Orwellian ramifications and the possibility to clearly understand or dissect the situation in the country is not an easy task.
In addition to the active role the Saudi-backed Wahabis, CIA and some Western intelligence organizations are playing in Syria, there is one entity, namely Israel which is stealthily espying every single development in Syria.
For the first time, an Israeli spy official clearly stated that Israel supports regime change in Syria and that it really demands an end to the government of President Bashar Assad.
“I hope it will happen, even though I don’t know when or how,” Intelligence Agencies Minister Dan Meridor said on August 7.
The top spy chief said why Assad should go and how it would damage the Islamic Republic of Iran.
